As a 22-year-old mixed media artist, I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always drawn to the quiet beauty in everyday moments, a fascination that found new depth when I discovered the work of Edward Hopper. His exploration of isolation, simplicity, and American life left a lasting impression on me, guiding much of my current work. Through mixed media, I weave together different textures and materials to capture those same themes of Americana, revealing the layers beneath the surface of everyday life.

Working in an art gallery opened my eyes to how art connects with people. Observing how different pieces move viewers, sparking emotions and conversations, has been a powerful experience. It reinforced my belief that art isn’t just about aesthetic appeal—it’s about connection, interpretation, and storytelling.

My mixed media practice allows me to dig into those quiet moments Hopper portrayed so masterfully, and to reinterpret them for today’s world. Through my work, I aim to explore both the beauty and the complexity of American culture, inviting viewers to pause and find meaning in the ordinary.

Below are some photographs from my trip to Positano, Italy.
